This weeks group presented chapter 6 by discussing the revolution of technology and how teachers are the exclusive agents responsible for the task of ensuring that prescribed knowledge and skills are effectively transmitted to students. The chapter analyzed and asks if it’s time that we reinvent school to keep up with the advancement of technology.
In my opinion, although the traditional skills that are being taught were effective for the time period, I believe that they’ve become more obsolete with the advancement of the technological era.
The use of technology in schools is overall an effective way of teaching because it enables students to adjust to their own pace of learning. Students who need extra time and learning opportunities can spend more time going over exercises until they understand, while a student who needs less support can continue ahead.
