Augmented Reality During Quarantine: Group C

Our current reality due to the worldwide pandemic requires people to self isolate and stay home as much as possible. This can be extremely challenging, especially with the nice weather around the corner and having young children at home. Luckily we live in an age where technology offers a vast amount of entertainment and learning opportunities to keep people engaged, entertained and sane. Augmented reality apps allow people to enter into a new reality in their own home. The 3D Animals app lets you see animals in 3D and view them in your current space by taking pictures. Children can learn about specific animals and bring them into their own space to enhance their learning experience. Wonderscope is another augmented reality app that brings stories to life in a new and engaging way. With this app, children are able to read, explore and immerse themselves in a variety of stories. Augmented reality is not only educational, but it is fun as well. Even though I don’t have any children, I will definitely be trying these apps out to pass the time during isolation.
